Super League Championship title on line in massive İstanbul derby

It will be soccer madness Saturday at the İstanbul Fenerbahce Stadium, as Fenerbahce and Galatasaray square off in one of the biggest derby matches in Turkish soccer history.

Both team have same point , but Galatasaray has the better goal differential over its crosstown rival.

The Turkish Super League has been trying something new this season, by deciding the championship using a four-team round-robin postseason, called the Super Final. To absolutely nobody’s surprise, the big four clubs of Galatasaray, Fenerbahce, Trabzonspor and Besiktas were the top-four finishers who qualified.

Games between these bitter rivals are incredibly intense under normal circumstances, so were in a six-week series of critical playoff matches. After six weeks, Galatasaray and Fenerbahçe will play the grand finale today, in one of the most important matches in their century-old rivalry.

The two Istanbul teams will take part in a winner-takes-all battle on Saturday, with the winning team going on to claim the league title. The trophy will go to Galatasaray in the event of a draw.

Game will begin at 19:00 (local time) at Kadıköy Fenerbahçe Stadium and it will be broadcast by Lig TV.
