Greek parliament approved austerity package

The Greek parliament approved a package of austerity measures this evening to secure a €130 billion bail-out and avoid “economic chaos” by defaulting on its debts.

Greece needed to approve the package of €3.3bn in budget savings to qualify for a second bail-out from eurozone countries and the International Monetary Fund.
