2013 Altın Küre (Golden Globe) ödüllerinde en iyi film ödülünü sürpriz şekilde Argo kazandı. Ben Afleck’in yönettiği ve bir bölümü Türkiye’de çekilen Argo, “Django Unchained,” “Lincoln,” “Life of Pi” ve “Zero Dark Thirty” gibi önemli rakipleri geçmeyi başardı. En iyi erkek oyuncu ödülünü Daniel Day-Lewis, Lincoln filmindeki rolüyle kazanırken, En iyi kadın oyuncu ödülü ise Zero Dark Thirty filmindeki rolüyle Jessica Chastain’e gitti.
