For the third year in a row, various shops from coast to coast and online retailers will be participating in Fashion’s Night Out on tonight. Timed to coincide with the kickoff of Fashion Week in New York — the presentation of designers’ collections for next spring and summer — it is the fashion industry’s equivalent of the fall county fair.
Fashion’s Night Out was conceived by Vogue’s current Editor-in-Chief, Anna Wintour, and CFDA’s President, Diane von Furstenburg, only two years ago. By now, it is something of a ritual practiced by active consumers and backed by countless labels and designers, throughout 18 different countries, and is endorsed by all 16 Vogue editors around the world.
Although billed as a global event, eyes, ears and wallets will be focusing on New York City, as Vogue, the Council of Fashion Designers of America, NYC & Company and the City of New York team up for a third year to ‘celebrate fashion, restore consumer confidence, boost the industry’s economy, and put the fun back in shopping’ and here’s just a few spots you can experience a dose of your Disney favorites throughout the night.
